- The Watch Post is a scouting building that provides a large Line of Sight to the area surrounding its location.
- It can be built by the Scout (Roman) or by any Villager (Roman)

The watch post was first shown in through the Project Celeste forum post Weekly Blog #5: Age II Town Center, Scout, Watch Post on June 22nd, 2019.

- The Watch Post and Town Center are two of the 13 Common Buildings that every Age of Empires Online civilization share. As discussed in the blog, the game already includes an Advanced version of the Watch Post: the Norse Outpost. That was our first big clue that the Roman Watch Post was likely to remain a simple Common Building. Our second big clue was the concept art, which looks like a standard Watch Post.
