Vanity Island is a region added in the Summer Update of 2012. It gives players the opportunity to spend Empire Points and Coins on Vanity Gear, which effect is purely aesthetic.
When purchased, Vanity gear goes into your Inventory. When bound to your city, the gear is added to a vanity armory which houses all the gear. The vanity gear works just like regular gear, and each instance of the gear you own can be added to only one unit. To outfit multiple units with the same gear, multiple copies of the vanity gear must be purchased.
