Description[]
A standard build with a fast age 2 time. However, without an early barracks you may be pushed off your hunts by early spear pressure from your opponent. This is a very flexible opening which can easily respond to anything your opponent throws at it.
This build order is best used when your opponent does not make a barracks before aging up, or when you have hunts behind your TC where they will be safe from early spear harassment.
The Build Order[]
- Have your Priestess empower your TC and send your 3 starting villagers to berries. Have your scout find your first hunting spot and woodline.
- Have your scout kill the hunts, and transfer your food villagers over to build a storehouse at the hunts.
- Your first trained villager should rally to your woodline and build a storehouse.
- Rally 2 more villagers to hunts. You should have 5 villagers on hunts at this point.
- Set your TC rally point to wood.
- As soon as you have the required resources, take a villager from hunts/wood to build your Temple of Ra. Continue to rally villagers to wood while aging up.
- Recommended: research Handsaw upgrade and train a Priestess of Ra as soon as you reach age 2.
No-hunts Variation[]
- As soon as the game starts, have your Priestess empower your TC and send your 3 starting villagers to build a storehouse at your berries (the storehouse can be skipped if the berries are very close to your TC).
- Research Berry Picking as soon as the storehouse is complete.
- Your first trained villager should rally to your woodline and build a storehouse.
- Rally 2 more villagers to berries. You should have 5 villagers on berries at this point.
- Set your TC rally point to wood.
- As soon as you have the required resources, take a villager from berries to build your Temple of Ra. Continue to rally villagers to wood while aging up.
- Recommended: research Handsaw upgrade and train a Priestess of Ra as soon as you reach age 2.
This variation should be used if you don't scout any hunts nearby. This is common on maps such as Arabia and Bandit Canyon.
What do I do now?[]
This build is versetile and can be used for many different playstyles and strategies. With most strategies, you should continue to rally villagers to wood until you have around 7-8 villagers on wood. What you do next will largely depend on the map, matchup and of course on scouting information. For example, if you scout your opponent making an early barracks, you will need a barracks of your own during the transition to age 2 in order to get axemen out in time to defend against any early infantry pressure.
