“ The Volsci must be marvelling that their outrages have gone so long unpunished. Caesar would have exterminated these Volsci pests long ago, and now their disease has spread into our gates.
The Volsci's attacks on our allies across the surrounding countryside terrorize Roman farmers. In search of new farmland, Roman Plebeians are revolting against Patrician landowners. The Volsci now hope to take advantage of our internal conflicts and attack us while we are weak. We must contain this disease before it spreads.
Eradicate the Volsci from our lands before they damage us further. ”
