“ Having paid off Lars Porsena and his greedy Etruscan army, Rome has removed the most powerful ally of the deposed Tarquinius. Weakened but undeterred, Tarquinius has now raised a new army from the underhanded Volsci and other nearby cities in the Latin League and marches towards Rome. Every king makes an enemy of the Roman Republic. Rome's jealous neighbors conspire against us.
