Results from May 30th's Balance Team Challenge Blog
week we introduced a new event to the community, bringing our Balance Team in to the virtual battlefield, to duke it out with you in a heavyweight bout so vicious that it would make the “Rumble in the Jungle” look like a pillow fight. Even better – we streamed the whole thing and left the evidence for all to see. If you didn’t see it, click the link and check it out.
If you did tune in last week, you’ll remember IamSTEVEHOLT shaking off some of the jitters that come with being in the spotlight, and after a rough start, vanquishing every foe he faced with extreme zeal.
This week we brought in Kedinik to take a stand in the ring and I must say, “he’s a bad man.” The day before the event, I ran in to the Balance Team perusing the halls after an all-hands meeting. I asked of them, “who’s weighing in for tomorrow’s fight?” All hands pointed to Kedinik.
I asked him, “are you ready for the big stage, or should we be prepared for a repeat of last week?” His response, “I’m bad… I wrestled with an alligator. That’s right. I wrestled with an alligator. I tussled with a whale. I handcuffed lightning, threw thunder in jail. That’s BAD! Only last week, I murdered a rock, injured a stone, and hospitalized a brick. I’m so mean, I make medicine sick.”
No doubt in my mind after a speech like that, he was ready.
Kedinik went out and displayed the most ferocious flurry of flair, unsympathetically filleting foes, and forcing them to furiously flee from the devastation at hand. Alliteration aside - seriously, Community, you couldn’t give a better show than this?
Five of you dared to step in the ring with Kedinik. Five of you retreated with your tails tucked between your legs. Am I gloating on behalf of the team? Absolutely. I thought you all had the talent to take down the Balance Team. Was I wrong for thinking that?
“It feels so good to holler when you know you’re bad!” Yes, Kedinik was indeed bad. I witnessed, first-hand, the devastation that one man could deliver.
Not to be outshined by any of his comrades, IamMRMILO decided to put on the gloves, issuing his own speech to amp himself up. “I’m going to float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. You can’t hit what your eyes can’t see. Now you see me, now you don’t. You think you’ll win, but I know you won’t. They tell me you’re good, but I’m twice as nice, and I’m going to stick to you all like white on rice!”
Bold words, but correct in every way. IamMRMILO stepped in and took apart his next two opponents. He even was so nice as to give someone a second chance. What a guy. The best part, IamMRMILO used strategies employed by IamSTEVEHOLT which the community said was downright outrageous. I’m sure you can guess the result. *Spoiler* He won.
Well looks like the Balance Team can rest easy this week. And of course by rest easy I mean enjoy the spoils of their flawless victories.
As always, thanks go to those of you who participated either in game or in the chat. You can find the results of the slaughter…err…event below. Take some time off to prepare for next week’s Balance Team Challenge. It looks like you’ll need a few days to recover.
I’ll see you then,
